So this is my bag...

Thanks for checking out my site.  I will try to keep this updated as much as possible with whatever has made an impact on me recently.  Hopefully you too find it interesting, whether it is something I've found inspiring, amazing or just annoying, I'll try to make it informative, contemporary and maybe even entertaining or funny.  Comments, especially constructive criticism, are greatly appreciated.

Where I'm coming from

I've been extremely fortunate in my life.  I was born in Canada.  I was born in Saskatchewan.  I was born into a rural agricultural family (heck, I was nearly born in a 1/2 ton truck according to legend).

I also had parents that somehow managed to put up with a kid that could never seem to stop asking questions.  And even better, they did their best to answer most of them.  They also encouraged and engrained in me a properly scientific skeptical attitude.

For me this has been a great combination so far.  I've been growing, building and fixing things for as long as I can remember (which was handy when looking for work or getting an engineering degree) , and I've come to understand that nothing is beyond the power of reason (or the scientific method, if you prefer).  However, this background often seems to put me at odds with the world around me.  Often enough that I feel the need to write this stuff down.  And since a free blog is so convenient to catalog and categorize the information that causes my consternation and that which is the basis for my understanding of these subjects (not to mention its free), I'm going to have a go at this. 

Fair warning in advance: I have been routinely called random, some topics may become excessively verbose and/or laden with jargon and scientific terminology. 

But what the hell, whose gonna read this anyway.
